Our Village
Our village learns together. We run our households together. We teach our children together. We become better people together.
Who is in YOUR village? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Take a moment and think about it. Really think about it. In your personal life… Your professional life…
It really is okay that we cannot as moms “Do it all.”
I feel that some people look up to me and compliment me on different parts of my life but I don’t know if they realize how much I look up to them and learn from everything THEY do.
People tell me, “You’re so good at this.” or “You really have it together.” But now I’m questioning, “Do I tell them? Do I let them know how much I appreciate them and learn from them?”
I call on people from my village all the time and they call on me. There are people who, before they met me, took pride in doing everything on their own. Now they know they don’t have to. They are there when I need them – for small things, for bigger things, for emergencies, and for fun. And, they know that I am here for them too.
Without my village my children would miss play dates or dance class. My classroom would not always be ready for a new day. I might go without lunch on a long day or not have a listening ear when needed. There is no way I would have been able to start this blog and share my ideas (and the ideas I get from others) without my village.
So, have you ever taken a moment to think… Who is in your village?
