Ode to My Label Maker
I have three label makers. The first one was a necessity because I had things that needed labeling. Duh. The second one was a frivolous purchase because I am a scrapbooker and it did a great elevated white print on black labels. It’s beautiful really. And perfect for so many different types of pages but my favorite use for it is sports pages. It was made to be used on sports pages.
My third one…ah, now that’s special. Take a minute to admire the picture of it at the top of this post, if you would. I was texting with my friend, Andrea, one day and she was telling me about this new label maker she just got. She listed all its amazing features and I was drooling (if one could drool over an office supply) but my budget was tight and I already had two so I added it to my Amazon wishlist and went about my work. Two days later I noticed a small box at my front door and when I picked it up it was addressed to Princess Sunflower (you didn’t know I was royalty, did you?) and somehow I knew right what it was! YES! The first order of business was to label the closest thing to me:
Yep, I’m pretty passionate about my label makers. In fact, I was so moved by the features of this little machine when I was thinking about it the other day that I composed an ode…to my label maker. Because, why not? I shared it with Andrea (the sender of the label maker) and she even got in on it, sending me a few lines.
Oh my. Sometimes I just entertain myself so much.
The other night my husband was going to start some new files and I asked him if he wanted to borrow my label maker. His words: “No, but thanks. I’m going to use…oh what is it? You know the thing everyone used before label makers were invented. Oh, a pen!” Can you even believe him?
So, what item in your house do you feel strongly about? Something you can’t function without? Or maybe you could function without it but your files wouldn’t be nearly as neat and pretty. 🙂
